Our people

2023 target

  1. Achieve ratio of female representation in management and senior positions at least 35% globally. ASICS C-level or above.

Action plan onward

  1. Continue to raise awareness, strengthen programs and develop training to leverage diversity and support the career development plans of younger employees, including female employees to improve overall gender equality.
  2. Analyze the barriers to leverage potential female managers in each division and implement action plans to remove them.


Supply Chain

2023 targets

  1. All 100% Tier 1 supplier factories to meet global CSR standards and ASICS CSR standards.
  2. All Tier 1 strategic partner factories to meet ASICS B-Level or above.
  3. Expand the scope of self-governance.
  4. All nominated Tier 2 suppliers to meet ASICS C-level or above.

Action plan onward

  1. Strengthen the response to forced labor under the respective Modern Slavery Act in each sourcing country.
  2. Continue to hold seminars in the key production countries.
  3. Develop incentive programs to encourage incorporation of sustainability factors.
  4. Promote conversion between industry standard tools and our sustainability standards.
  5. Improve supply chain transparency in response to human rights and environmental risks.


Products

Targets

  1. 100% recycled polyester to replace standard polyester materials in shoes and sportswear products by 2030.
  2. Three regions (Europe, US and Japan) to have product take-back programs to reuse of recycle products and materials.
  3. Create innovation through partnerships by 2030.
  4. Source 100% more sustainable cotton for apparel and accessories by 2025.

Action plan onward

  1. Increase the ratio of recycled materials based on each product category roadmap.
  2. Increase the use of recycled materials made from textile waste.
  3. Take-back program through E-commerce and retail will be expanded to Canada.
  4. We will reach out to organizations to further enable our product recycling and carbon emissions reduction.
  5. Continue to source more from LWG medal-rated suppliers.
  6. Increase our sourcing of certified sustainable cotton toward 2025.


Operations (scope 1 + 2)

Targets

  1. 63% reduction in absolute CO2 emissions from our direct operation by 2030 (2015 baseline).
  2. 100% renewable electricity used in our business facilities by 2030.
  3. 98% waste recovered or recycled at our direct operations by 2023.

Action plan onward

  1. Actively switch to renewable energy where possible.
  2. Will continue to work with the key locations to reduce the waste going to landfill and improve recycling rates further.


Operations (scope 3)

2023 targets

  1. 90% Tier 1 strategic partner factories improve their SAC Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM) Score compared to baseline.
  2. 90% of all nominated Tier 2 suppliers improve their SAC Higg FEM Score compared to baseline.
  3. 20% reduction of water and waste impact per item produced by Tier 1 footwear factories by 2023. (2015 baseline)

2030 targets

  1. 63% reduction in absolute CO2- emissions from our supply chain by 2030 (2015 baseline). Target scope is ‘purchased goods and services’ and ‘end-of-life treatment of sold products’.
  2. 50% reduction in the amount of energy used by our Tier 1 supplier factories to manufacture our products (2015 baseline).
  3. 85% renewable electricity used in our Tier 1 supplier factories to manufacture our product.
