Our Net-zero 2050 Target
We aim to make a positive contribution to global climate goals by adjusting the way in which we operate, including our manufacturing processes.
We support ongoing global efforts to limit average temperature increases to 1.5 degrees above
pre-industrial levels and aim for a collective net-zero world by 2050. We have set several targets
and actions, involving the increased use of renewable energy and overall reduction in energy use in our operations.
Renewable energy
We define renewable energy based on the Technical Criteria of RE100. We periodically check whether our sourcing renewable energy is aligned with the criteria.

Reducing energy use and GHG emissions
Manufacturing requires energy and water, and it produces greenhouse gas emissions. We work to reduce our emissions within both the direct scope of our own operations and the wider indirect scope.
Action towards net zero
2030
Action toward 2030 CO₂ reduction targets
Prioritize the reduction in the category which has large amount of emissions
1. 100% renewable electricity used in our business facilities by 2030.
2. 50% reduction to the amount of energy our Tier 1 supplier factories use to manufacture our products by 2030.
3. 85% renewable electricity used in our Tier 1 supplier factories to manufacture our products by 2030.
4. 100% recycled polyester to replace standard polyester materials in shoes and sportswear products by 2030.
5. 3 regions have take-back programs to reuse or recycle products and materials.
・Innovation toward decarbonization such as expansion of product carbon footprint labeling, development of low emission products etc.
・Respond to temperature rising by expanding products that can adapt to rising temperatures and developing a sourcing strategy that recognizes outsourced manufacturing plants in regions with a high risk of natural disasters Identify the financial impact and develop investment plan.
2050
Action toward net-zero
Implement reduction measures in all categories and achieve net-zero
Reduce about 90% of the emission through;
・Use of 100% renewable energy in manufacturing process.
・Transportation using bio-fuel and electric car.
・Expansion of take-back and recycled program etc.
And neutralise about 10% of residual emissions by using removal credits etc.
Taking climate action at the top
Our climate action starts with governance. Climate action is overseen by the highest governance bodies at ASICS. Members of the Board of Directors and Executive Board receive financial incentives linked to the delivery of our climate strategy and related actions. This approach reinforces accountability and strengthens our commitment to achieving our climate targets.
Performance against climate-related targets is a component of determining the compensation (salary and bonus for short-term, and restricted share compensation for mid- to long-term) of Executive Officers. Through the Sustainability Committee, progress toward climate-related targets and initiatives is regularly reviewed, and performance is reflected in compensation.
Executive Officers further support these efforts by driving implementation across the business, including the integration of climate considerations into divisional strategies, resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement.
Scenario analysis result (TCFD) including financial impact
We are the world's first sporting goods manufacturer to support the Financial Stability Board's Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) Scenario Analysis and we are actively promoting the disclosure of information based on TCFD. We have identified risks and opportunities based on scenario analysis and have analyzed their impacts and response measures. This is reflected in our business strategy.
