The story of ASICS begins in Kobe in 1949 with just two employees, a small amount of capital, and the strong aspiration of founder Kihachiro Onitsuka to support the physical and mental development of young people through sports. Seventy-five years after its founding, ASICS is now a global company with 8,500 employees worldwide, and more than 80% of its sales outside Japan.
