Work Style and Support Structure
In order to promote Diversity, Equity & Inclusion(DE&I), ASICS has been implementing a initiatives to support our diverse talent.
ASICS aims to create an attractive work environment where all employees can perform to the best of their potential to create innovation by working autonomously depending on the business needs or diverse backgrounds and by keeping a work-life balance to achieve work results systematically and efficiently.

1. Flextime
This is a system that allows employees to work autonomously and systematically by setting the total working hours for the month and choosing the start and finish time of each day within this range.
Employee’s voice:
“I am currently raising my children. I mainly use flexible working hours to match the time for dropping off and picking up my children from kindergarten. Not only for drop-offs and pick-ups, but I am also responsible for housework, which greatly helps in sharing responsibilities with my wife.
In a world where high productivity with time is increasingly demanded, the ability to balance both private life and work, and approach each with a positive mindset, makes flexible working hours an essential system for me.
Also, I’ve heard that in some companies, there are systems in place that are not actually usable. However, I see that my colleagues also make use of flexible working hours, and I feel that a culture of diverse work styles is deeply rooted at ASICS."
2. Sports Leave
This is a part of an employee’s annual leave to participate in a sports activity, to accompany their family or friends in the participation in a sports activity, or to support a sports event held within their community or organization.
Employee’s voice:
"I use Sports leave to watch professional sports events, including J-League soccer games. For those of us working in the sports industry, watching sports or participating in events helps create connections with users and allows us to incorporate trends into our proposals, ultimately improving our work performance.
Personally, by utilizing this system, I’ve been able to experience the passion and excitement of sports firsthand, which has given me a sense of pride in working at ASICS and has greatly increased my motivation."
3. Working from home
Work from home is allowed when the application is made in advance and the manager approves that there are no obstacles to working from home.
Employee’s voice:
”I am raising two children and make use of the flexible working hours and work from home system. On three days a week, I leave work 40 minutes earlier, and then make up for that time on other days, ensuring that I maintain the same full-time working hours while balancing work and childcare.
Additionally, since there are time differences for meetings with overseas teams, I sometimes use work from home to participate in online meetings from home, especially during early mornings.
As a manager, it is very helpful to be able to work in this way to ensure smooth communication with my team members. Furthermore, being able to use these systems to advance my career while raising children is a significant motivation for me."
4. Leave System
ASICS has several systems for taking time off to support employees who are balancing work with childcare or caregiving.
