Notice Regarding Measures Taken Against Manufacturers and Sellers of Infringing Onitsuka Tiger Products

Corporate/Marketing Onitsuka Tiger

[JUNE 14, 2026 – KOBE, JAPAN] ASICS Corporation (“ASICS”), the owner of the Onitsuka Tiger brand, announces that it has taken action against Gio Co., Ltd. (including its subsidiary Art Deco Co., Ltd.), FMDH LLC, and DS Shoten Co., Ltd. (collectively, the “Companies”) for trademark infringement and violations of the Unfair Competition Prevention Act. ASICS has demanded that the Companies cease the manufacture and sale of certain products that closely resemble Onitsuka Tiger products (the “Infringing Products”).

ASICS holds numerous trademark rights related to the stripe design used on the sides of Onitsuka Tiger footwear, known as the “Onitsuka Tiger Stripes.” The “Onitsuka Tiger Stripes” have been continuously used on Onitsuka Tiger footwear for approximately 60 years and are featured on key products such as the “MEXICO 66” and “TIGER CORSAIR A55” (collectively, the “Onitsuka Tiger Products”). In addition, ASICS holds trademark rights covering the three-dimensional shape of these products.

ASICS determined that certain products manufactured or sold by the Companies closely resemble the Onitsuka Tiger Products, and therefore demanded that the Companies cease manufacturing and selling the Infringing Products on the grounds of trademark infringement and violations of the Unfair Competition Prevention Act.

In response, the Companies have complied with ASICS’ demands by ceasing the manufacture and sale of the Infringing Products. Furthermore, some of the Companies have implemented additional measures, including offering product recalls and refunds to consumers who purchased the Infringing Products.

ASICS cannot tolerate any actions that undermine the brand value it has built through continuous corporate efforts.

ASICS regards intellectual property, including product design, as a critical management asset, and will continue to take firm and decisive action against any infringement of its intellectual property rights, including trademark infringement and acts of unfair competition.
