ASICS WELL-BEING REPORT 2024 RELEASED AIMING TO 'REALIZE "SOUND MIND, SOUND BODY" BY EMPLOYEES' THROUGH FIVE MEASURES

[November 6, 2024 – KOBE, JAPAN] ASICS Corporation has published the “ASICS Well-being Report 2024” on the corporate website, introducing the progress and the latest measures being taken towards various health-related goals for the employees.

As a company that supports the health of all its customers and as creators of valuable products and services, we place the utmost importance on the physical and mental health of our employees. In order to foster a corporate culture in which the company grows alongside the growth of its employees, we are working on “health management” with the aim of achieving healthier lifestyles for our employees.

As part of these efforts, we have been publishing the Well-being report every year since 2018.

In fiscal 2023, under the policy of “improving and maintaining health literacy for every employee,” we implemented measures with five key items: (1) expand health management and promotion system, (2) support improvement of health literacy, (3) support improvement of lifestyle habits 4) Strengthen mental health support, and 5)workplace environment where diverse personnel can enjoy success. Through the verification of the effects of these measures, we aimed to “achieve Sound Mind, Sound Body*1 among employees”.

As a result, there were positive results, such as an increase in the number of employees who responded that they were able to achieve over 80% performance *2, from 43.1% in FY2022 to 44.6% in FY 2023.

The report also includes a summary of the main initiatives for 2023, messages from the COO and CAO, comments from an external expert (a doctor), and an introduction to the progress of health management-related initiatives, making it easy to read and helping to naturally raise awareness of health.

In addition, from fiscal 2022, we have introduced questions on “health literacy” in our health-related questionnaire survey (ASICS Well-being survey) for employees. We have established and evaluated five items: “information gathering ability,” “information selection ability,” “information communication ability,” “information assessment ability,” and “self-determination ability,” and have compared the results with the previous year. We will continue to support the improvement and establishment of health literacy.

Our company's founding philosophy is "A Sound Mind In A Sound Body". In order to embody this philosophy, we will continue to promote and expand health management by conducting ongoing health promotion activities with the aim of achieving “well-being” (a state of good physical, mental and social health) of our employees and their families.

The percentage of individuals who feel that they can achieve over 80% performance, even when considering health issues, with 100% performance being achievable in a healthy state.
