- What led you to choose ASICS?
I have loved sports since I was a child, and I started playing basketball seriously in high school. I wanted to have a career related to sports and athletes, which is why I chose ASICS.

Can you describe your current job responsibilities?

Since joining ASICS, I have been working in the Court Development Team within the CPS (Core Performance Sports) Development Department, where we develop shoes for various sports. My team focuses on shoes for court and mat sports, such as basketball, volleyball, wrestling, tennis, and indoor sports—not running or lifestyle shoes.

The shoe development process starts with planning, design, and cost finalization. Once those are set, we move on to creating samples, which are made in factories in Vietnam and China. As a developer, I bridge communication between the headquarters and the factories, ensuring the process runs smoothly.
To create accurate samples, clear ordering materials and strong communication skills are essential. It's not only important for sample creation but also for working efficiently with designers and other departments.
Since I continue to play basketball myself, I feel extremely grateful and motivated to work on the development of popular basketball shoes like GELHOOP and GLIDENOVA.

What would you like to challenge in the future at ASICS?

I have been playing basketball since high school, and my ultimate goal is to become the category leader for basketball shoes in the future.
