- What inspired you to choose a retail position?
While in college, I worked part-time at a sporting goods store, where I discovered the joy of running, the quality of ASICS products, and the high level of trust runners place in the brand. I realized that working at an ASICS flagship store would allow me to share this experience with many others. That was the main reason I decided to pursue this role.

What do you find satisfying about your current work?

As a store staff, I have the opportunity to directly share the things I believe in — based on my own experience and knowledge — with a large number of people. One of the most rewarding moments is when customers who I helped choose the right pair of shoes come back to share their achievements, like completing their first marathon or breaking their personal best. It’s in these moments that I truly feel proud of my work.

Additionally, I manage running events, where I see beginners turn running into a regular habit or achieve personal milestones such as completing a marathon or setting a new personal record. Being able to directly contribute to the improvement of our customers' running lives is incredibly motivating.

What would you like to challenge in the future at ASICS?

I currently work at ASICS RUN TOKYO MARUNOUCHI, a store specializing in running, and my goal is to ensure that even more people feel like, "I’m so glad I visited this store. I want to come back. This place is so much fun." I want our store to be recognized as the central hub for ASICS running in Tokyo

In the future, I aim to organize events that help people make running a regular part of their lives, create long-term initiatives where customers can track their progress, and host challenges focused on achieving personal records. Although we primarily host events at ASICS RUN TOKYO MARUNOUCHI, I’m eager to collaborate with outlets and sporting goods stores nationwide, spreading the joy of running and showcasing the excellence of ASICS products to customers across the country.
