ASICS Press Release

[13 Dec, 2022 – KOBE, JAPAN] ASICS introduces the new COURT FF™ 3 tennis shoe, built for all-around performance on the tennis court with upgrades in key areas that allows you to focus on the game and allows you to stay on top of your game.

Developed in close collaboration with 21-time Grand Slam winner, Novak Djokovic, the COURT FF 3 now boasts an industry-first three-piece outsole to provide more flexibility and comfort than ever before. Results of biomechanical testing on University of Tsukuba resulted in a 6.8% lower load on the body* at the point of ground heel contact, compared to the previous model, consequently reducing stress on the body.

“I’m proud to share my journey with ASICS for the launch of their new collection, especially the new COURT FF 3,” said Novak Djokovic. I’ve worked in very close collaboration with the team in Europe and Japan to improve the previous version, which was already a great shoe. They understand my needs and are committed to improving even the smallest detail, which I value and respect. At this point in my career, it’s essential that the shoes I wear on court suit me at the best down to the smallest detail. Nothing feels better than playing in ASICS.”

Develop of the product focused on allowing tennis athletes to swing stronger and make quick turns in shorter time. The separated two piece outsole in the heel area increases the contact area and enables smooth landing along the center of pressure, and decrease the impact on the body. Additionally, the two-piece TWISTRUSS™ technology helps enable sharp directional change for increased acceleration on the court.

“When the concept of this model was originally presented, there were mentions of fatigue playing throughout the season,” recalls Koji Otobe, the lead developer of COURT FF 3 shoe. “To tackle that we looked at different elements such as breathability, support system, but also focused on how we can have athletes maintain their top performance throughout the match. By applying this new outsole structure, we were able to lower the impact on the body, enabling athletes to stay on top of their game”.

The COURT FF 3 shoe will be available from January 2023.
