[FEBRUARY 15, 2024 – KOBE, JAPAN] ASICS is pleased to announce its winning of the "6th Japan Open Innovation Prize Sports Agency (JSA) Commissioner Award”.

This award is sponsored by the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Ministry of the Environment, Japan Sports Agency, Keidanren, and Science Council of Japan.

The Japan Open Innovation Prize is an award system to recognize leading and creative initiatives that serve as role models for open innovation and accelerate the creation of innovation in Japan.

This year's award was presented to ASICS in recognition of becoming a role model for manufacturers with its efforts throughout the supply chain in achieving results to produce a sneaker*, "GEL-LYTE™ Ⅲ CM1.95" (announced in September 2022 and launched in September 2023), with the world's lightest CO2 emissions and the presentation of a calculation method that will become the industry standard.
