Ashirase Inc., a portfolio company of ASICS Ventures, showcased its walking navigation device for the visually impaired, “Ashirase,” at ASICS House in Paris, France, from August 28 to September 8, 2024.
“Ashirase” is a shoe-mounted navigation system developed to support independent walking for the visually impaired. It provides accurate navigation to users by using voice input via a smartphone app and a vibration interface attached to the shoes.
Many people including athletes and individuals with and without disabilities, experienced the device at the “Ashirase” booth in ASICS House. Participants provided positive feedback, such as “While navigation with map apps can sometimes be confusing, this device seems to offer more precise guidance.”
Ashirase Inc. positioning this exhibition as the start of test marketing for global expansion by 2025. Through this showcase, the company aims to increase brand awareness among overseas users and accelerate the development of its product to support “independent outings” on a global scale.
