RESPONSIBLE COTTON SOURCING

We mainly use synthetic materials such as polyester in our products. The use of cotton is limited but one of the natural fibers used for ASICS apparel products. Cotton is known to use a large amount of water before harvesting, as well as a large amount of chemical substances (pesticides and fertilizers). 

In 2018, we made a group-wide commitment to source more sustainable cotton. ASICS is committed to sourcing 100% of our cotton as ‘more sustainable cotton’ by 2025 in our apparel products and accessories. More sustainable cotton’ includes the following:

›› Organic cotton, Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified

›› Fairtrade cotton, Fairtrade certified

›› Recycled cotton, Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certified

›› Cotton made in Africa (CmiA), traded under CmiA license

ASICS partners with The Better Cotton Initiative/BCI to improve cotton farming globally. Better Cotton is sourced via a system of Mass Balance (bettercotton.com/massbalance)
