Own operations and platform performance optimization for ASICS Corporation consumer-facing web platforms, identify and provision compute and network delivery resources to optimize platform performance, and work with application development and content teams to deliver industry leading digital consumer interaction contributing to ASICS Corporation digital transformation initiatives.
The DevOps Lead is responsible for the deployment, operations, and performance for consumer-facing web platforms for ASICS brands. Under the authority of the manager of the ASICS Headquarters Consumer Solutions Platform Operations & New Projects Team and in line with global digital transformation strategies, the DevOps lead will work with the application development teams and manage cloud infrastructure and CDN vendors to operate web/mobile application platform solutions contributing to the achievement of the company’s mid- and long-term goals, with a focus on end-user performance, resiliency, maintainability, and security.
・Manage relationship with and utilization of vendors for AWS cloud infrastructure operations services.
・Work with operations vendors and application development teams to define and manage test environments and deployments tools to enable pre-release testing and continuous delivery type code deployments.
・Evaluate and deploy application and performance monitoring tools in production environments to enable business and technology teams to make decisions based on real-world performance metrics.
・Constantly monitor production performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimizations and make specific code modification recommendations to application development teams.
・Oversee employees and partners, ensuring solutions are properly architected, specified, implemented and tested, to achieve high performance and resiliency.
・Work with the ASICS enterprise infrastructure team on data security policies and compliance.
Challenges year 1
・Participate in evaluation and selection of a cloud infrastructure vendor for management of AWS resources.
・Analyze existing test, deploy, and monitoring tools and make actionable recommendations for improvement. Execute on recommendations that have been approved.
・Take ownership of the management of cloud infrastructure and CDN vendor relationships.
・Identify and implement quick fixes to improve application performance with little or no change to the existing code base.
・Establish strategies and processes for prioritizing performance related code changes and work with application development teams to set up ongoing performance improvement processes.
・Document sets of relevant best practices for achieving performance improvements for application developers, hosting, and CDN teams.
・Look for opportunities for feature interoperability between e-commerce, marketing platforms, and omni-channel experiences.
・Research alternatives to current hosting and CDN vendors with focus on performance improvement followed by cost reduction.
・Make recommendations for extending monitoring tools for improved insights on system and business performance metrics.

・Familiarity and experience with API-based architectures, for use on the web or with mobile services, and with mobile development.
・Structured, organized, practical, with a track record of delivery, ability to juggle multiple projects/partners simultaneously. Proven ability to consistently deliver technology projects on time, on budget, and with high quality results.
・Good verbal and written communication in English (must be comfortable maintaining technical documentation, presenting and exchanging ideas in workshops, and providing business user support over the phone).

Direct report to the manager of the Consumer Solutions Platform Operations & New Projects Team, Consumer Solutions Department, within the ASICS Global IT division.
・The role is based in ASICS Headquarters Shibuya office in Tokyo. Relocation to Japan and visa sponsorship will be offered to the right candidate
