ONITSUKA TIGER AND HANON UNLEASH WILDCATS SNEAKER

Region: Europe
Release date: 2013.10.26

This past summer, fans camped overnight to get their hands on a pair of Northern Liites sneakers by Onitsuka Tiger and Hanon. The limited editions sold out immediately throughout Europe. But there is good news for fans still searching for special Hanon shoes: the Wildcats are out.

Also built from the chunky COLORADO EIGHTY-FIVE model, the Wildcats sneaker is named after a running club from Hanon’s northern Scotland. The name was borrowed from the graceful yet untameable cats, also called The Tiger of the Highlands.

The shoe’s blazing red and orange symbolize the classic style of the Wildcat club and the spirit of the endangered super-predators. Along with other unique features, both Onitsuka Tiger and Hanon logos are playfully placed on the shoes.

RRP for the Hanon Wildcats limited edition is €120. It will be on sale at Hanon as of November 2 and at selected retailers across Europe from November 9.

About Onitsuka Tiger

In 1949, Kihachiro Onitsuka established Onitsuka Tiger, the forerunner of ASICS. It began with a commitment to promoting youth health, and has gone on to play a part in most major Olympic games. The famous Tiger stripes are synonymous with sporting triumph. The legend lives on today in the fusion of Japanese heritage and contemporary design. The spirit of Onitsuka Tiger is reflected in each collection of unique sneakers, apparel and accessories.

About Hanon

We first opened in November 1990 in Elgin - a small city located in the north east of Scotland - before relocating to Aberdeen in 1993, which is where we are now. The reason for opening was a natural progression of the things we were interested in at the time, namely skateboarding and street wear. Looking back it was really a way to source the stuff we were passionate about that we previously didn't have access to.

From there, we evolved over the years. The world of street wear has always been quite good at recognising other subcultures whether it would be from a clothing or music perspective. This has kind of allowed us to dip into different things from deadstock sneakers to vintage denim or performance sportswear but still retain a familiar identity.
