May 17, 2014 - ASICS (Headquarters: Kobe, Japan; President CEO: Motoi OYAMA) congratulates the company’s sponsored triathletes on their excellent finishes at 2014 ITU WORLD TRIATHLON in Yokohama, JAPAN. The triathlon featured standard distances of a 1.5km swim, 40km bike, and 10km run.

The race was held under a beautiful sunny sky on Saturday, May 17.

Jorgensen has gotten off to a very impressive start to the ITU season, winning her second competition this year in Yokohama. She also won the 2014 Mooloolaba ITU Triathlon World Cup in Australia in March and is currently ranked a career-high number two (*) in the ITU World Triathlon Series. (*as of May 17, 2014)

Jorgensen commented, “I’m so glad I won. I am always so energized by the cheers of the Yokohama fans, and I’m so grateful. I’ve been physically ready for the race. To be front in Bike and Swimming was key, I thought. The Run is my specialty, so I was confident. I am excited to finish five more races this year and will try to post good finishes.”

Jorgensen will continue to race in the GEL-NoosaFAST series as she pursues more top podium finishes in upcoming races, including the ITU World Triathlon Series in London and Chicago.

She further noted, “I really like the GEL-NoosaFAST, which supports me in my specialty, the Run. They are made for triathletes, and are comfortable and easy to run in.”

Jorgensen won the Yokohama race with GEL-NoosaFAST (*), while Sato relied on the specially-made SORTIE MAGICEKIDEN DS.
